FAMILY FIELD TRAINING EXERCISE

Expert's Pick

FARISH RECREATION AREA

If you’re looking to get your household squared away with some skills and a healthy dose of unit cohesion, your United States Air Force Academy has tactics, techniques and procedures. The academy’s 10th Force Support Squadron runs the Farish Recreation Area on the west side of the 18,500-acre campus that offers hiking, fishing, camping and a slew of other skills. One of the guys who runs the place can train your kids in bow-and-arrow marksmanship. Your Defense Department ID gets you into the place, which the Air Force describes as “A 650-acre paradise nestled in the mountains west of the Academy at an altitude of 9,000 feet.”
